SUCCESS STORIES

Financing Community Improvements: With its Allegheny Ridge wind farm in Cambria County, Gamesa is paying $125,000 annually in royalties to townships where wind turbines are located. As with all of the townships in which the project was constructed, Gamesa is paying Juniata Township $3,000 annually per power-generating turbine on a wind farm in Cambria County. In the coming years, Juniata Township will receive enough money to pave two remaining township gravel roads, and then reduce or eliminate taxes for township residents.

Protecting Waterways: Gamesa installed $50,000 “open bottom culverts” in order to avoid impacts to stream headwaters and protect water resources when developing the Allegheny Ridge project. The company also created food plots throughout project area to protect Pennsylvania’s rich hunting traditions. These efforts are examples of how Gamesa goes above and beyond what is required by local, state and federal requirements, setting the gold standard for environmental excellence.

Funding Road Improvements: Gamesa understands the effects of development and takes care to work in the most environmentally sound, ecologically sustainable manner. The company also understands what it takes to get there: Gamesa paid approximately $100,000 to fund road improvements to carry its vehicles for the Allegheny Ridge project. Gamesa also is providing reliable income for three public water authorities: Portage, Hollidaysburg Borough and Highland, which serves a number of municipalities.
