ABOUT GAMESA
For the last 20 years, Gamesa has been working with communities worldwide to build wind farms that are compatible with the surrounding natural environment. All of Gamesa's wind farms are conscientiously and properly sited using data collected from numerous studies that go beyond the requirements of law.
Since 2004, Gamesa has invested $175 million in the commonwealth, growing local economies and creating some 1,200 jobs across the state, including nearly 365 right here in the Laurel Highlands and Allegheny Mountains of western Pennsylvania. The company built its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Ebensburg, Cambria County, where the turbines that Pennsylvanians assemble are shipped across the country and around the world.
With its commitment to community, Gamesa employs the best practices to protect the environment, and the people and wildlife living within it. In 2007, Gamesa was selected to become a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, which lists 318 of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. Only 10 percent of those eligible are even selected to join the index.
Harnessing the wind in an ecologically sustainable way, Gamesa is helping to power Pennsylvania and America with energy that is clean, reliable, renewable and affordable.
